 Dr. Jennifer Karnes
Dr. Karnes has been the owner of Central since 2005. She is a 2003 graduate of the Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Karnes is a life-long midtowner and currently lives in the Evergreen neighborhood with her husband Stephen and daughters Maeve and Lily. The family shares their home with their three cats Abbey, Fluffy, and Scarilyn and dogs Stuart, Valentine, and Martha.
Dr. Karnes spent her first year out of Veterinary School working under Dr. Tracey Gillespie of MedVet Memphis. Dr. Gillespie is a board certified internal medicine specialist. Dr. Karnes has an interest in internal medicine and is highly skilled in the use of ultrasound imaging.
Dr. Lynn Svoboda
Dr. Svoboda is a 1984 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Svoboda is a native of Memphis and has practiced veterinary medicine here for over 20 years. She is a board member of the Animal Emergency Center.
Dr. Svoboda is a true animal lover and has a real soft spot for German Shepherds. She shares her home with a number of dogs and cats (too many to name here).
Management
Stephen is a native of Knoxville, TN but has lived in Memphis for over 20 years. He is a graduate of Rhodes College and the University of Tennessee. Stephen has worked at Central for over three years and enjoys working with the doctors and staff. He especially enjoys managing the practice with his wife, Dr. Jennifer Karnes.
Veterinary Assistants
Elizabeth is a native of Memphis and a Midtown resident. She loves her job as a technician and expects that she'll always work with animals in one capacity or another.
Jen is a native of Memphis who moved to L.A. for a while and decided to move back to be closer to her family. Jen has worked in veterinary medicine for over 6 years.
Joanne has worked at Central for over four years. A native Memphian, Joanne lives slightly east of Midtown with her adorable daughter, Abby.
Chris has worked with us for over four years. Chris lives in the Berclair area with his partner David and their 5 dogs and 8 cats.
Kennel Staff
Johnny and Charles have worked in the kennel at Central for a combined 40 years.
